Report Cards

A delirious poem written in the midst of writing report cards. I'll write about the delicious St. Patrick's Day dinner tomorrow. Happy St. Patty's Day everyone.

Grades, Grades
I'm digging through data
It's work and stress
the whole Enchilada

Comments, Comments
What can I say?
I want them done
Yesterday

Report Cards, Report Cards
I'd rather just teach
or even better
go to the beach

  4. Post the poem in the teacher's room. You'll have a whole choir singing your words.

  6. Fun...the comments are the hardest part, I think - you want them to be meaningful, and our kids really take these to heart. Enjoy the sense of being "done"!

  8. Love the 'whole enchilada'. We don't have grade cards but rubrics to fill out, with comments! Tough going for teachers around this time of the year. So busy, busy. Fun poem, good rhythm and rhyme, Elizabeth!

  12. All you wrote is so, so true. The comments are always the hardest part, but also the most appreciated. Hope the report cards are done for you now and that you can go back to teaching tomorrow - and to the beach sometime soon!
