A delirious poem written in the midst of writing report cards. I'll write about the delicious St. Patrick's Day dinner tomorrow. Happy St. Patty's Day everyone.
Fun...the comments are the hardest part, I think - you want them to be meaningful, and our kids really take these to heart. Enjoy the sense of being "done"!
Love the 'whole enchilada'. We don't have grade cards but rubrics to fill out, with comments! Tough going for teachers around this time of the year. So busy, busy. Fun poem, good rhythm and rhyme, Elizabeth!
Elizabeth, Wow in the midst of crafting report cards, I am impressed with your creativity. I love your fun poem and feel your pain. I was there last week. Hope you are dancing a happy dance celebrating the completion by now. ~Theresa
This was fun! I love the "whole Enchilada" too! It just flowed. I know how you feel. Just let me teach. Any more there is much more we have to do. Writing does easy the pain some! Thanks for sharing! Happy Slicing! :)
All you wrote is so, so true. The comments are always the hardest part, but also the most appreciated. Hope the report cards are done for you now and that you can go back to teaching tomorrow - and to the beach sometime soon!
You're so funny. I hope you can get them done tomorrow so you can have a stress free Monday. Now stop reading this comment and get back to work!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I love your humor and your view of grading. You say a lot with just a few words.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! What a great poem to share with us as many are in the midst of grading. You made me smile and put things into perspective!
ReplyDeletePost the poem in the teacher's room. You'll have a whole choir singing your words.
ReplyDeleteBet this break to write a poem invigorated you! Such fun!

ReplyDeleteElizabeth, that was fun! I love it when teachers can express their desire to teach unencumbered in a light-hearted way.
ReplyDeleteLove this! A delightful take on a "must do," the agony of data time. Thanks for sharing!
